Doughnuts are a great treat to many people, doughnuts even have there own national day! Though when you have doughnuts, all can think of is the deliciousness it contains rather than how they even got there. Well, I’ll tell you what, you’re in luck. Today you will be reading about how doughnuts were invented. It all started with a man named Hanson Gregory who claimed to have invented a beautifully delicious ring shaped pastry. Though when people tried this idea, they started taking it! Hanson was unhappy that people had ruined the whole thing twisting the doughnuts and making them different shapes, and selling the middle of the doughnut. Americans say that we are the inventor of doughnuts, when really doughnuts are British. We believe they were invented in America only because Hanson Gregory was American, but historians have figured out that they are British. Now the doughnut is popular all around the world, thanks to Hanson Gregory.
