On August 4, 2015, it was officially announced: the first ever hover board. That’s right you heard it, the first hover board. Promising to be futuristic, it floats about three inches off the ground. To make the impossible possible, it contains a series of magnets and superconductors cooled by liquid nitrogen. You may still be wondering how it floats. The answer: magnets in the ground. Lots and lots of magnets. So unfortunately, you can only ride this in the custom made skate park in Barcelona, Spain. But unfortunately, it only lasts 10 to 15 minutes but reaches to more than a hundred miles an hour. Even though the hover boards aren’t coming to a skate park near you, it’s a work of art, and an amazing invention.
